OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Convention & Visitors Bureau (OKC CVB) will host Travel Media Showcase 2011 (TMS) September 20 to 22 at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, OK. This convention will bring together 70 travel journalists from around the world and tourism executives from 60 markets throughout North America for three days of meetings and tours of attractions throughout Oklahoma City.

Travel Media Showcase offers a unique opportunity for top travel journalists and travel industry professionals to meet one-on-one, at a single location, for the purpose of exchanging information and developing personal contacts. It also provides a unique opportunity for the OKC CVB to showcase Oklahoma City.

"We're excited about this opportunity to host Travel Media Showcase 2011 and show-off Oklahoma City to such a large group of travel journalists and tourism executives," said Mike Carrier, president of the Oklahoma City Convention & Visitors Bureau. "It's one thing to tell people how much Oklahoma City has to offer, but nothing compares to letting them see it for themselves."

Attendees will experience a wide sample of what Oklahoma City offers visitors. The travel journalists and tourism executives will visit the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum and Bricktown. They will also attend their choice of four local tours showcasing downtown attractions, Western and Native American heritage, Oklahoma history & heritage and family fun activities.

"I think they'll be impressed by our first-class attractions and all that Oklahoma City has to offer as a visitor destination," said Carrier. "We believe hosting these travel journalists in Oklahoma City and strengthening our relationships with them will pay dividends in the future."
