YUKON – After about four years of work, the North American Soccer League finally has a team in the Oklahoma City metro.

Rayo OKC will start playing in early April at Yukon School District’s Miller Stadium. The team is owned by Spain’s Rayo Vallecano de Madrid soccer team, and Sean Jones, owner and operator of the Broadway Clinic, Mariposa MedSpa and several other health care-related companies. Sold Out Strategies, owned by Brad Lund, will be the team’s managing partner.

“I’m excited about it, obviously,” Jones said. “I’m a little relieved that the day has finally come.”

The team’s closest competition will come from San Antonio, but NASL Commissioner Bill Peterson said more teams will be announced that are closer to Oklahoma City.
