The countdown to fall has officially begun in OKC and few things pair better with the cooler temperatures than a grilled cheese and soup. At The Mule, there's plenty of both (and so much more). Located in OKC's Plaza district, The Mule takes gourmet grilled cheeses to a whole new level.

To start off, try the Okie Poutine (picture above), The Mule's own version of cheese fries topped with gravy, or the Fried Cheese Curds, both made with Oklahoma's own Watonga Cheese. Of course, be sure to save room for the main entree of grilled cheese and soup. And if soup isn't your thing, their beer battered fries and onion rings are just as tasty.

The Macaroni Pony (pictured above) will have your mouth watering in seconds. Loaded with pulled pork, pickles and mac and cheese and placed on jalapeno cornbread, this "grown-up" grilled cheese is always a favorite.

For those who prefer a more "high class" grilled cheese, have a go at the Fancy Pants. Nine grain wheat bread, roasted chicken, brie, gruyere, caramelized onion, pear and basil pesto. The combination is out of this world.

Great food, great atmosphere, a well-stocked bar and a lovely patio for people watching while enjoying the cooler weather: What else do you need?  Next time you're in the Plaza District, stop by and try it for yourself!
