The Oklahoma State Fair has arrived and this year the rides, animals, shopping and of course the food are sure to please. With so much to do, we took a trip to the State Fair and rounded up some of the major stopping points to check out on your way around State Fair Park.

First things first, the petting zoo. Yes, I know we've all been to a petting zoo, but this was one of the highlights of the day. From a Pot-Bellied Pig to kangaroos and alpacas, there is an animal to please everyone. And the best part... it's FREE. You can buy food if you would like to make yourself extra enticing, but it's not a necessity.

With so many things to do, it's hard to choose a favorite activity besides the thrilling carnival rides or non-stop entertainment. Below is a list of suggested must-dos for families and children or just adults.

Children & Families
The City of Agtropolis
Barnyard Birthing Center
Clydesdale Alley
Disney On Ice
Live Entertainment (Pig Races, magic show and more!)

Over 21 Crowd
Wine and Beer Garden
Xtreme Bulls Tour & Concerts (This year includes Jerrod Niemann and The Charlie Daniels Band!)
Shopping at The CONNECTION
Free Concerts at the Chickasaw Entertainment Stage (And karaoke - it's a tradition!)

But remember, just because you're considered an adult, doesn't mean you can't enjoy some of the younger-aged activities, too! Everyone loves a good carnival ride from time to time.

And finally, the food.

With a plethora of options, it is difficult to narrow down what to try. We decided to give the newcomers a chance and tasted The American Hot Dog - a Polish sausage topped with mac-n-cheese, Cap'n Crunch Battered Chicken Strips On-A-Stick - yep, Cap'n Crunch and served with a side of honey, and for dessert the award-winning Deep-Fried Cookie Dough On-A-Stick - all we can say is YUM, and a Deep-Fried Gummy Bear On-A-Stick - aka a giant jelly doughnut smelling treat. (Noticing a trend here with On-A-Stick? It seems to make all food that much better!) But there's also the Oklahoma State Fair staples like Silver Dollar Cinnamon Rolls (which always has a line) or your traditional funnel cake or corn dog. For the more daring this year, taste test the Caveman Turkey Leg, Deep-Fried Sauerkraut Balls or the French Toast Burger. And, let us know how the Bacon-Wrapped Jack Daniels is... we were just too full to try it.

Now get out there and ride the rides, see the animals, do a little shopping and of course eat the food at the Oklahoma State Fair. You've only got until September 21 to get your fill!
