Between the Polar Vortex deep freeze and temperatures in the 60's just last weekend, it's hard to know from one day to the next what old man winter might throw our way lately. Thankfully the Myriad Botanical Gardens and Tropical Conservatory in downtown Oklahoma City has you covered no matter what direction the mercury travels.

The Tropical Bridge Conservatory houses more than 2,000 plant varieties in two distinct climates, both of which are warm. It's an oasis in the middle of downtown and a great way to spend a few hours on a chilly winter day. Should temperatures rise, you can explore the 17-acre gardens, which include a children's garden, dog release area and a great lawn perfect for soaking in some precious winter sun.

Another way to make the most of winter weather is to enjoy some outdoor ice skating at the Devon Ice Rink. Open 7 days a week in the Myriad Botanical Gardens, the Devon Ice Rink hosts daily public skating, private parties, and special events until February 17. And hungry skaters (or those who would rather just watch those skaters) can dine right next to the rink at the new Park House restaurant, open 7 days a week for lunch or dinner.

Of course, there are plenty of other activities that can fill a winter day in Oklahoma City no matter the weather. Be sure to check out our Things to Do section for more ideas.
