The weather may be cooling down, but the calendar is heating up in OKC this October. Here is a quick rundown of the highlights.

  Oklahoma Regatta Festival
October 2-5

This celebration of rowing, kayaking, dragon boating, stand up paddle boarding and family fun includes the 2013 OKC Canoe Marathon Invitational, blu VIP Party, Oklahoma City University Head of the Oklahoma racing, OGE NightSprints and more.

Why should you attend? This event is a perfect way to experience all that is new along the Oklahoma River, as well as see some great races. 
  The Barons are Back:
October 4,5,15,18,19

Hockey returns to OKC with the Oklahoma City Barons hosting five home games in October.

Why should you attend? The Barons have reached the AHL Western Conference Final the last two seasons. This is top-notch hockey action, folks.
    The Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show:
October 12-19

For more than 35 years, this show has represented the pinnacle of achievement in the Morgan Horse world. More than 1,000 horses from 45 states and 4 countries will compete for more than $300,000 in awards and prizes

Why should you attend? The variety of events make this a great choice for experiencing equine action in the Horse Show Capital of the World.

Gazette's Halloween Parade:
October 26

Gazette's Halloween Parade lurches onto the scene once again with its macabre celebration of artistry and creativity in Midtown and Downtown Oklahoma City

Why should you attend?  Last year, the parade boasted attendance of more than 60,000 with almost 100 entries and more than 2000 participants. This year's parade promises just as much fun.
