Want to know what it's like to live the life of a real cowboy?  Maybe you're interested in gunfighters or bluegrass music.  Experience life as a cowboy at this year's Stockyards Stampede September 27 at Stockyard City with live entertainment from 9:30am to 5pm.

A full day of western activities and entertainment is in store for the entire family as the Stockyards take you back in time.  You can partake in chuck wagon food tasting, therapeutic horseback riding demonstrations and pure live entertainment with cowboy poets, square dancing, Guthrie Gunfighters and bluegrass bands.  Best of all, there's a kids area that will offer little mechanical bull riding, a petting zoo and scavenger hunts.  And, if you are really interested in how a true stockyard works, there will be tours of the Oklahoma National Stockyards.  This is an all-day event so bring the entire family and engage in a true west experience.

If you get hungry, treat the family to Oklahoma City's oldest continually operated restaurant, Cattlemen's Steakhouse.  It's been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and Man vs. Food not to mention they served President George Bush Sr., Gene Autry and even John Wayne.

The entire family can be part of the action as we keep the west alive in the historic Stockyard District.
