I Love the 90s
The I Love The 90’s tour will bring you back to the days when MTV actually played music, when the president told you could smoke marijuana without inhaling, and a rubber koosh ball was on every kids Christmas list. Featuring performances from Vanilla Ice, Salt n Pepa, All 4 One, Tone Loc, Coolio and Rob Base, the tour will come to Cox Convention Center on Oct. 1. Tickets will go on sale Friday, April 29 at the Chesapeake Energy Arena box office, Ticketmaster.com and charge by phone 800-745-3000.
The 1990’s was a vibrant decade marked by multiculturalism and globalization which was enhanced by a piece of game changing technology known then as the World Wide Web. One of the era’s most successful TV shows, The Fresh Prince of Bell Air, dramatically & comedically displayed how hip hop culture left the hood and was spread across the suburbs. Dope, fresh & da bomb became regular vernacular, baggy pants & backwards baseball hats were regular 8th grade uniform and the music of Vanilla Ice, Salt n Pepa, Coolio & Tone Loc were taking over top 40 radio.
