Located on the 3rd floor. The 5th installment of the New Frontiers Series for Contemporary Art,  will present twenty large scale works.  Her biography notes that akin to Magical Realism, Hefferman's lush self-portraiture utilizes a myriad of art historical references to present a sensual interior narrative, a self-allegory whose half-hidden politicall agenda is the literal background of the paintings. The dark, Grimm fairy tale-like undercurrent transforms her aritocratic, operatic portraits into a contempory vanitas or memento mori, acting as both a stylized fantasy and a Bosch-like warning.
