    The Jim Thorpe Museum & Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame opened on November 17, 2009. The building is 37,000 sq. feet and includes the museum and an event center. It is a one of a kind facility that honors hundreds of great Oklahomans. The Museum, highlights Oklahoma's greatest athlete, Jim Thorpe, the distinguished members of the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame, winners of the Jim Thorpe Award given annually to the best defensive back in college football and the Warren Spahn Award, given annually to the best left handed pitcher in the MLB.
