A Message from Our President

May 31,2013

This past week has been one filled with significant challenges, uncertainty and grief as our area has dealt with the aftermath of the deadly tornadoes from May 19 and 20. Certainly we are thankful that the number of deaths initially reported proved inaccurate, but the loss of 26 lives and numerous homes and businesses still weighs heavy on our hearts.

Many thanks to all of you who reached out in so many different ways. Your thoughts, prayers, offers of help and contributions to services involved in the rescue and recovery efforts are much appreciated. The outpouring of support and influx of volunteers from just the local area in response to the initial tragedy was overwhelming. Now we begin the hard work and long grind of recovery.

If you still wish to contribute to the recovery effort, please consider known entities such as the American Red Cross, the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma or similar agencies. If you want more information on how you can help, want to volunteer, or want to donate to a local entity, please call 1-866-484-3500. This is the phone number for the central site receiving these requests.  It is being operated by Journey Church at the request of the City of Moore, Oklahoma.

Sincerely,
Mike signature
