Adventure District

Adventure District

If you're looking to fill the day (or weekend) with family-friendly adventures, Oklahoma City's Adventure District has you covered. This two-mile area includes the can't-miss  National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, the nationally-renowned Oklahoma City Zoo & Botanical Gardens and plenty of hands-on family fun at Science Museum Oklahoma. It's also home to Remington Park Racing & Casino, the state's premier horse racing facility with Oklahoma City's only casino.

Eat... dinner at Gabriella's Italian Grill & Pizzeria, where everything is homemade. We suggest the brick oven pizzas. Or the house-made pastas. And the calzones. Oh, and if you can save room for dessert, be sure to grab a cannoli.

Enjoy... feeding the stingrays at Stingray Bay, the Oklahoma City Zoo's newest exhibit, where you can touch stingrays as they fly and glide through their 16,000-gallon saltwater pool. These guys and gals have been enjoying their new home since July 2013. And don't worry, at Stingray Bay, each stingray's barb is carefully trimmed from their tail. Stingray Bay is a seasonal attraction, open March through October.

Experience... live science experiments at Science Museum Oklahoma. The "Science LIVE!" show takes place twice daily during the week and three times each day on the weekends giving plenty of opportunities for the kiddos to wowed by this amazing show.

Of course, the guide above is just a sampling of what there is to taste, see and do in the district.
