Apr 2013   Oklahoma City to Host 2013 USA Canoe/Kayak Trials for Flatwater Sprint April 26-27

OKLAHOMA CITY – April 23, 2013 The Boathouse District in Oklahoma City will host the 2013 USA Canoe/Kayak Team Trials for Flatwater Sprint, April 26-27. The two-day competition will include racing events to select the junior, under 23 and senior national teams, and will features races in the sport of paracanoe. Local Paralympic hopeful 22-year-old Shad Isaac, a prominent local wheelchair racer, will compete in his first paracanoe race this weekend. Jones, Oklahoma native Dylan Puckett will compete for a spot on the junior team, and local high performance athletes will race to qualify for the senior team. In addition, local youth ages eight and up can learn about sprint canoe/kayak and paddle in a boat with elite athletes during a canoe/kayak open house event Saturday morning.
