TULSA - Airport activity at Oklahoma City and Tulsa has been up the past three months.
For the year, however, activity has been flat at the state's two largest airports.
At Oklahoma City's Will Rogers World Airport, departures increased 3.8 percent in April, compared with April 2012. The number of people getting on planes in May rose 1.81 percent from a year earlier, while the number was up just 0.03 percent in June from a year ago.
At Tulsa International Airport, the number of people departing Tulsa was up 0.015 percent in April and May and virtually unchanged in June, compared to a last year, said Carl Remus, deputy director of administration and finance for TIA.
"The economy played a factor," Remus said. "We are starting to see a little movement. Business travel is always strong."
