Staff at the Gardens has planned a host of activities featuring all that we relish this time of year – ice skating, wreath making, gingerbread house creating, Santa visiting and more. We are especially excited about Illuminations: Starry Starry Night, the musically choreographed light display inside the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory. Our immersive light installation celebrating the holidays returns to the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory Wednesday, November 27. The entire Bridge serves as a canvas for moving lights choreographed to music, inviting visitors inside for a curated and creative experience. Inspiration for this year’s show is the swirling blue and gold images of the painting The Starry Night, by Vincent Van Gogh.

A family tradition returns with Devon’s Weekend with Santa. Children can visit Santa and other holiday characters, make crafts in Santa’s workshop, ride the holiday train, listen to live music, shop local merchants and paint ornaments. In addition, families can take advantage of the Devon Ice Rink, complimentary rides on Mo’s Carousel, and children get in free with a paying adult into the Crystal Bridge.

We’ll learn about the flavorful ginger root – where it comes from, how it grows – and then discuss the history of gingerbread. We’ll finish by decorating our fragrant masterpieces. Free and open to the public, Myriad Botanical Gardens provides 15 acres of ornamental gardens and grounds that include a children’s garden and carousel, native prairie garden, shade gardens, tree and shrub collections, lake with terraced gardens and a diverse collection of ornamental flowering perennials and grasses.
The Gardens offer a variety of horticultural educational programs for all ages ranging from lectures, classes, workshops and walking tours to seasonal festivals. The grounds also feature The Crystal Bridge Conservatory, home to thousands of tropical and desert plants. With more than 500,000 visitors annually, the Gardens is managed by Myriad Gardens Foundation, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that partners with corporate and community groups to enhance the educational, aesthetic, cultural and economic development of Oklahoma City.
