The Waterford Marriott will greet guests this week as a rechristened Renaissance Hotel as the once prime property seeks to reclaim its status as a luxury destination.
The Renaissance name change took place at midnight Tuesday, capping months of changes at the hotel.
John Williams, who previously oversaw operations at the Skirvin Hilton and Colcord hotels, was hired last April to manage the Waterford, which was purchased just months earlier by Rhode Island-based TPG Hospitality.
The new name follows a $10 million renovation that started in July.
