Plaza District reveals the 32 Artists
of the 2017 Plaza District Festival
The variety and craftsmanship of Oklahoma-based visual artists will
soon be showcased for 25,000 people
Oklahoma City, August 16, 2017 – The annual Plaza District Festival returns for its 19th year on Saturday, September 30, 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., on the 1700 block of Sixteenth street, between Indiana and Blackwelder with 32 Oklahoma-based artists.
The Festival, which celebrates all things local, also includes three music stages, ten popular food trucks, all-day live mural painting, and a dedicated Children’s area.
“With more than 90 submissions, choosing this year’s artist roster of 32 was incredibly challenging, said Angela Cozby, the 2017 Plaza District Festival Co-chair. “I believe our panel of jurors selected an outstanding variety of art.”
The 2017 artist selection has both new and returning Oklahoma artists and includes a variety of media including paintings, photography, woodwork, paper silhouettes, stained glass, sculpture, pottery, soap, jewelry, solar lights, metal work, clothes, purses, and designer dog treats. All works are available for purchase just in time for the holiday season.

All art within the Plaza Kid’s Art Boutique is priced between $5 and $2 dollars and accessible to children 12 years and younger. Festival volunteers are on site to help each child select a piece for their personal art collection and all proceeds benefit children’s programming future Plaza District Festivals.
