It’s Just Around the Corner! The 42nd Annual Paseo Arts Festival is Always
Memorial Day Weekend!
Oklahoma City (March 28, 2018) – The Paseo Arts District’s 42nd Annual Paseo Arts Festival will take place May 26 and 27 from 10 a.m.- 8 p.m. with live music until 10 p.m., and May 28 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Visitors will enjoy more than 90 visual artists, who will fill the Historic Paseo Arts District with original artwork: everything from painting, ceramics and photography to woodworking, sculpture and jewelry.
The Festival is also famous for its dozens of musicians and live performers on two stages. This year we have 52 groups of them! The food court is better than ever and will feature 20 food and drink vendors with traditional and not-so-traditional festival treats, both savory and sweet. Think gyros, Asian food, monster wraps, jerk chicken and mini donuts made to order, with new additions of fried tacos and grilled sirloin on a stick! Also new this year are three great beers from Coop Ale Works, Briefcase Brown, Negative Split and Spare Rib Pale Ale, all on tap and ice cold! The children's area allows future artists to explore the arts and have fun while creating and is moving back to its original space at the corner of 29th and Dewey.
What makes the Paseo Art Festival happen? Volunteers and we need a lot of them! Sign up is at thepaseo.org/festival.
Shudder at the thought of parking? The Paseo Express, a shuttle bus, will run every 15 minutes to the parking lot at First Christian Church at NW 36th and Walker, making it beyond easy to park and ride. Shuttle hours are 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. May 28 and 29 and from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. May 30.
The Paseo Arts Festival draws thousands of people who come to enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of this annual Oklahoma City tradition. It is also the Paseo Arts Association’s largest fundraiser, enabling the Association to offer arts programs and events in the Paseo year-round. The Paseo is OKC’s Unique Arts Destination. Dozens of galleries, restaurants and shops stand in distinctive Spanish Mission Revival style buildings, all within walking distance. The Paseo Arts District is located between Northwest 30th and 27th Streets and Walker and Hudson.
