The Fiestas is coming!
Award-winning outdoor festival draws thousands of visitors to the Capitol Hill business district for an all day, multicultural
celebration during Hispanic Heritage month.
OKLAHOMA CITY—The Capitol Hill Board of Directors join with our sponsor Fowler Dodge to proudly announce
the 12th Annual Fiestas de las Americas taking place Saturday, September 30 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the
Capitol Hill District (SW 25th St. between S. Walker and Robinson).
The day of entertainment and fun begins with the vibrant Parade of the Americas, featuring beautiful floats, cultural
dance groups, student marching bands, and the popular escaramuzas y charros – equestrian riders in traditional
costume. The parade starts at 10 a.m. at Capitol Hill High School and features over 70 entries from local schools,
non-profits and other businesses, plus community groups representing their native countries with traditional
costumes.
This year we welcome the Ballet Folklórico South Texas College group for their first visit to Oklahoma. The
group of over 30 dancers and musicians will perform twice on the Fiestas stage with a range of dynamic and
traditional dances from various regions of Mexico. The evening will close with an exciting performance by Banda
Lamento Show de Durango. The band prides themselves in their rhythmic and lively musical style while preserving
their roots in the Mexican state of Durango.
The Fiestas Committee is proud to work with our sponsors and many dedicated volunteers to present a cultural
experience for all to enjoy. Opportunities for parade participation, vendors, and sponsorships are available. Visit
