March is a big month for OKC in the world of sports. Tomorrow brings the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship, followed by the NCAA Division I Wrestling National Championships a few weeks later. Not to mention the countless Thunder and OKC Barons games happening in between.
First up is the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship held at Chesapeake Energy Arena, March 7-10. Two first round matchups will be played on Friday, March 7, followed by quarterfinals on Saturday, March 8. Semifinals are scheduled for Sunday, March 9 with the final contested on Monday, March 10. The winner earns the Big 12's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship. The Conference championship has been held in Oklahoma City twice before in 2007 and 2009, however those events were held in the Cox Convention Center. So this year, it's even bigger and better.
Later this month, March 20-22, brings the NCAA Division I Wrestling National Championships to the Chesapeake Energy Arena as well. But let's hope you already have tickets because this event is sold out! If you still want in on some of the excitement, head over to the Cox Convention Center for Fan Fest held all weekend during the tournament. Or walk over to Bricktown where you can catch the action on TV at one of the many bars and restaurants.
So get to OKC and check out all the sports activity happening this month!
