There’s something fun to do every weekend in OKC, but this weekend… this weekend is absolutely jam-packed with some of OKC’s biggest events, festivals, concerts and more. Here are the highlights:
Red Earth Parade and Festival
Representatives from more than 100 Native American tribes, clothed in full tribal regalia, will parade through the streets around Oklahoma City’s Myriad Botanical Garden on Friday morning, signifying the start of the 30th Annual Red Earth Native American Cultural Festival. The festival, located at the Cox Convention Center in downtown OKC, will feature Native American art and fancy dancing, displaying the rich heritage of Native American culture.
2016 Redbud Spectacular
This weekend at State Fair Park, enjoy a weekend full of roping, youth riding, barrel racing, fair food, and so much more. Come see what the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association calls, “a whirlwind of a horse show!”
Prix de West
June 10th marks the opening weekend of Prix de West, a distinguished Western-style art exhibit hosted by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. This weekend’s events include a fixed-price sale of pieces, a live auction, and a closing celebration.
OKC Dodgers Baseball
Take your friends and family out to the ballgame! With three home games this weekend against the Nashville Sounds, the Dodgers are sure to make your night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark a fun and exciting experience.
OKC Restaurant Week
Continuing this weekend until June 12th is OKC Restaurant Week. Presented by the Oklahoma Gazette, OKC’s best restaurants are serving their most famous appetizers, desserts, and everything in-between for special prices.
deadCENTER Film Festival
Dubbed by MovieMaker magazine as one of the “20 Coolest Film Festivals in the World,” this 5-day long event, concluding June 12th, features more than 1,500 local, national and international films.
Live on the Plaza
This Friday in the Plaza District is “Live on the Plaza” art walk. This event features live music, local shopping, artists and more until 11:00 PM.
(Seat) dance the night away at the smash-hit musical Mamma Mia! during its time at the Civic Center Music Hall.
Frontier City Concerts presents Plain White T’s
This Saturday, Plain White T’s will be making their stop at Frontier City. Come sing along to hits like "Hey There Delilah," "1,2,3,4" and "Rhythm of Love."
If you’re looking for some comedic relief this weekend, head to The Criterion and check out Dave Chappelle LIVE. Shows begin at 7:00 PM, this is sure to give you a night to remember.
