Whether you have a night off from business ventures or have come to Oklahoma City for a night on the town, we've made a list of some great spots to hear live music in OKC! Below is just a spotlight on some places we suggest:
Blue Note Lounge
One of the state's oldest music venues, is home to a variety of bands in many different genres many of which are Oklahoma's best local and homegrown bands. With nightly events like karaoke and happy hour every day from 4 to 8 p.m. you can't go wrong here!
Wormy Dog Saloon
Country music anyone? From local acts to touring artists, the Wormy Dog is the perfect place to hear some great country and Red Dirt music in the heart of OKC. On the dance floor, you'll find people who know how to two step or are content just to make their own steps.
Michael Murphy's Dueling Pianos
Every town needs a great piano bar and Michael Murphy's is just that! The dueling pianist over anything and everything at your request while providing hilarious entertainment. It's always a good time here!
For a great combination of dancing, local and regional music, it is difficult to beat Granddad's Bar. Americana, bluegrass, Red Dirt and traditional country acts, as well as singer/song writers, are regulars at Granddad's. The vibe is friendly and festive, and the crowd is a mixture of nearly every age.
Another great local spot is JJ's Alley. Besides the music, they offer stand-up comedy every Sunday followed by an open mic night for y'all to test those pipes. And bonus, there's never a cover charge... ever!
The Blue Door
Going to The Blue Door for some live music is great for two reasons: it's a cozy venue and a BYOB establishment. You can get up close to the performers playing many music genres including bluegrass, folk, rock, country and blues, all while saving money by bringing your own drinks. Win-win for everyone!
