In conjunction with Juneteenth, Gapelii Brand, an emerging Black-owned luxury fashion brand, founded in 2019 by CEO, Toja Hodge and former Oklahoma native, Andrew Akufo is partnering with the Oklahoma State Conference NAACP to present “Blooming into Juneteenth with Gapelii Brand." The first time fashion show will take place on Saturday, June 19 from 5-8:30 p.m. at Myriad Botanical Gardens in Oklahoma City.
The event will feature displays by multiple Black-owned fashion brands, including Gapelii Brand, House of Artistree and Puissance Clothing among others. The venue will be open and live performances will take place throughout the day featuring bands, musicians, comedians and poets including Sly T, Cheryl White, Kendra Jones and more. Food, a local business fair and activities such as face painting, art, games and balloon animals will also be available.
