Art Afloat is bringing local artists together to take over the Bricktown Canal every Thursday night for the Art Afloat Showboat Concert Series!
This new program will take place on the Bricktown Water Taxi
, some of which have transformed into floating murals, and will feature Oklahoma musicians performing in an intimate setting under the stars. The evening will begin with a check-in at the original Bricktown Brewery
In addition – as part of an earlier effort across multiple partnerships – a team of artists have created installations along the canal, including a colorful LED installation by Oklahoma artists Nathan Hendrix and Stephen Tyler, which ties together murals created by artists Tiffany McKnight and Kyle Van Osdol. “Poles Apart” is a preview of future installations envisioned by Art Afloat OKC.
The “Showboat Concert Series” will feature a different local musician every week starting May 20 through the end of August 2021. Ticket holders will meet pre-show at the original Bricktown Brewery to be checked in and will enjoy a taste of the Bricktown Brewery’s handcrafted beers (must be 21 for this part, of course) before going one block south to board their water taxi for the 40-minute show.
