During the 2018 OKC Whitewater Festival, Michelob Ultra BoaterX Extreme Racing had whitewater kayakers launching off the bridge at the east end of RIVERSPORT Rapids and racing side-by-side through the channels, navigating gates, executing combat rolls and elbowing their way to victory. It’s a full contact sport, and spectators were just feet away watching the action! [video]
Several families found a new furry family member at the Dog Adoption Event on Saturday, courtesy of Country Roads Animal Rescue in partnership with Ninth Street Barking Lot.
The Red Bull Pump Track World Championship US Qualifier provided some of the most exciting action for the weekend. The new racing series is taking pump track racing to a new level and bringing a fresh face to bike racing around the world.
Free Pop-Up Mercy Fitness Classes were hosted by Mercy Hospital both Saturday and Sunday. From yoga to H.I.I.T., kickboxing to foam rolling & stretching, there was something for everyone.
OKC’s whitewater celebration also featured free whitewater kayaking clinics courtesy of Jackson Kayak, OKC Kayak, and RIVERSPORT. Nationally-recognized paddlers Clay Wright and Colin Kemp shared their kayaking experiences with paddlers of all skill sets throughout the weekend at RIVERSPORT Rapids.
World Kayak Slalom Survivor wrapped up the weekend of competition bringing together the technical aspects of slalom racing with a playful format that was great fun to watch!
Rafting teams were on the water battling it out for medals and bragging rights, and everyone found great food and beer specials in Big Water Grill.
