Changes to the 2020 schedule because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in USA Softball making the decision to postpone the 2020 edition of Border Battle, an annual international slow pitch event that features the USA Softball and Canadian Slow Pitch National Teams. Originally set for July 24-26 in Kent, Wash., Border Battle will now be held in Oklahoma City, Okla. at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium September 25-27. The USA Softball Men’s Slow Pitch National Team (MSPNT), Women’s Slow Pitch National Team (WSPNT), Men’s Futures Slow Pitch National Team (Men’s Futures), and Women’s Futures Slow Pitch National Team (Women’s Futures) will compete in three days of action against Canada’s Men’s and Women’s Slow Pitch National Team rosters as well as grassroots clubs.
USA Softball announced the 2020 Slow Pitch National Team rosters that will represent the United States at Border Battle XII earlier this year. The MSPNT roster includes athletes from 11 different states with 14 veterans returning to the roster while the Men’s Futures Team is a mixture of veterans and rookies from 11 different states. The 14-athlete WSPNT roster includes athletes from 10 different states while the 15-athlete Women’s Futures roster includes athletes from 13 different states. Athletes on all four rosters have earned numerous USA Softball National Championships and individual tournament accolades.

Athletes are selected to represent the United States as a member of a Slow Pitch National Team based on their grassroots participation at their respective USA Softball Slow Pitch National Championship.  Athletes wishing to make the 2021 WSPNT, Women’s Futures, MSPNT and Men’s Futures will need to participate in the following events: the Women's Open Slow Pitch National Championship in Hendersonville, TN (August 21-23), the Men's Super (August 20-21) or AA Slow Pitch National Championship (August 22-23) in Hendersonville, TN, the Men’s Class A Slow Pitch National Championship in Oklahoma City, Okla. (Sept. 4-5) or the Men’s Class B Slow Pitch National Championship in Oklahoma City, Okla. (Sept. 6-7).
