OKLAHOMA CITY CONVENTION CENTER

The stunning new Oklahoma City Convention Center is a $288 million publicly funded project that opened January 2021. The state-of-the-art building is located east of Scissortail Park along Robinson Blvd.

This center is 500,000 square feet and includes a 200,730 square foot exhibit hall, which is divisible into four halls. The 29,874 sq. ft. ballroom has 5,000 sq. ft pre-function space and terrace overlooking Scissortail Park. There are 27 meeting rooms and nearly 45,000 sq. ft. of meeting space that includes 9,726 square foot Junior Ballroom.

The Convention Center’s design was heavily influenced by its relationship to the surrounding environment. Level 1 relates to the warm earth, Level 2 connects to the horizon line, and Level 3 takes cues from the colorful Oklahoma Sky. Strategic use of color and materiality supported this concept throughout the interior design.

Narduli’s “Virtual Sky” will grace the glass atriums facing Scissortail Park across the street. The artwork evokes Oklahoma’s beautiful skies and the state’s links to aviation history. Slender, sleek titanium tubes, suspended by aircraft cables in each of the two multi-story atriums. will capture the gleaming lights . The gleaming forms will capture the natural light pouring in from the downtown skyline.

With 500,000 square feet of high-tech, highly desirable meeting space right in the heart of downtown, the Oklahoma City Convention Center is a vital part that makes OKC so dynamic and engaging. See for yourself by viewing floor plans and a stunning 3D virtual tour.

Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization

Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization (NPBI) technology will deliver purified indoor air. The solution is a patented technology developed by Global Plasma Solutions. This is proven technology to fight pathogens with high concentration of positive and negative ions, delivering them to the space via the HVAC system. Within the air stream, ions attach to particles, where they combine, become larger and are more easily filtered from the air. When ions come in contact with pathogens, they disrupt the pathogens’ surface proteins, rendering them inactive.

In addition, there are added value elements of saving energy consumption and a lowering of carbon footprint.

Each of the OKCCC air handler units will be outfitted with the NPBI units to clean the indoor air throughout the facility.

Global Plasma Solutions’ NPBI technology has been certified by United License 867, and United License 2998 as ozone-free. Neither ozone or other harmful byproducts will be produced within the environment.

LightStrike Robot

LightStrike Robot uses a patented Pulsed Xenon UV light system that produces UV across the entire germicidal spectrum deactivating the pathogens at the wavelengths where they are most susceptible.

Xenex solutions are proven effective in the most demanding healthcare environments and are ideally suited for disinfecting hospitality, transportation, and other environments to deactivate bacteria, viruses, spores, and those impacted by the ongoing COVIS-19 pandemic.

Deactivating germs on high touch surfaces improves customer safety and creates safe environments which is critical to maintaining sustainable business operations.
The LightStrike Robot will be deployed to within the OKCCC to deactivate pathogens on high touch surfaces to include but not limited to: tables, chairs, and elevator cabs. This solution will decrease the resources required to disinfect space in order to return to service.
