Preferred by the International Canoe Federation, the global authority for Canoe and Kayak paddling sports, this venue has a proven track record of hosting world-class events. It has hosted U.S. Olympic Team Trials for the sport in both 2016 and 2024 and is currently scheduled to host several international races leading up to 2028, including the 2025 ICF Canoe Slalom Super Cup and the 2026 Canoe Slalom World Championships. The venue also boasts a strong programming infrastructure for engaging youth in the sport, aligning with the IOC’s focus on legacy, ensuring that the permanent venue will sustain itself through continued programming and use well beyond the Games.

The Whitewater Center is an existing world-class venue with facilities specifically designed for international Canoe Slalom competitions.
