Team OKC is the local organization supporting LA28 in proposing Canoe Slalom and Softball for the 2028 Olympic Games in Oklahoma City.

LA28 proposes to use the existing world-class venues in Oklahoma City for the 2028 Olympic Canoe Slalom and Olympic Softball competitions which promises an unparalleled experience for athletes and fans. Staging the Canoe Slalom and Softball competitions in Oklahoma City furthers LA28’s goal of showcasing the best of the United States, along with the innovation, optimism and hospitality of the American people.

As an official U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Site, the Whitewater Center hosts numerous national and international events, including the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Paris 2024. Preferred by the International Canoe Federation, the global authority for Canoe and Kayak paddling sports, this venue has a proven track record of hosting world-class events. It has hosted U.S. Olympic Team Trials for the sport in both 2016 and 2024 and is currently scheduled to host several international races leading up to 2028, including the 2025 ICF Canoe Slalom Super Cup and the 2026 Canoe Slalom World Championships. The venue also boasts a strong programming infrastructure for engaging youth in the sport, aligning with the IOC’s focus on legacy, ensuring that the permanent venue will sustain itself through continued programming and use well beyond the Games.

The Whitewater Center is an existing world-class venue with facilities specifically designed for international Canoe Slalom competitions.

Known as the Softball Capital of the World, OKC boasts infrastructure that ensures athletes have access to premier fields of play. While there are other facilities, none match the size and scale of those in OKC. Home to USA Softball, Oklahoma City hosts some of the most prestigious Softball events in the United States and the world, including the World Cup of Softball, WBSC Men’s World Cup, Border Battle, Olympic tour stops, U.S. Olympic Team Trials, various USA Softball National Championships and the highly acclaimed NCAA Women’s College World Series (WCWS).
