RIVERSPORT Rapids & Adventures
Did you know you can go whitewater rafting AND surfing in Oklahoma City – and just seconds away from downtown too? RIVERSPORT Rapids & Adventures has outdoor thrills for all age levels, including ziplines, ropes courses and some of the tallest slides in the state. Opening this summer are a state-of-the-art surfing simulator and a zipline across the rapids. For more chill experiences in the Boathouse District, float along the Oklahoma River on a standup paddle board or kayak.
Hurricane Harbor Oklahoma City
Just in time for summer, Oklahoma City's biggest water park is getting a new name and an exciting new water slide complex. Hurricane Harbor Oklahoma City (formerly White Water Bay) features more than 25 acres of classic water park fun, including family raft rides, a lazy river, water slides and a huge wave pool. Its newest addition, Wahoo Racer, is a two-tiered mater water racing slide with six side-by-side racing lanes, each offering a different super-soaking experience. You'll have to try them all!
Frontier City Theme Park
A theme park trip is a summer staple, and the whole family can enjoy a day at Oklahoma's only theme park, Frontier City. The roller coasters, thrill rides and concerts are cool, of course, but the best ways to beat the heat include the classic water rides and Wild West Water Works – a huge water feature with slides, sprayers and tipping bucket.
Summer Fun for Families
Families can experience the newest addition to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, Liichokoshkomo'. Inspired by the Chickasaw phrase Let's play!, Liichokoshkomo' will feature more than 100,000 square feet of discovery areas and hands-on learning experiences, including replicas of an Intertribal Village and Western structures.
