April in OKC
The calendar is packed in April with a world-class marathon, concerts and other fun activities! Here are a few recommendations of ways to discover the Modern Frontier this month.
Can't Miss Events
Come to Remember
On April 28-30, runners and spectators from across the globe will make their way to downtown Oklahoma City for the OKC Memorial Marathon. A tribute to those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever by the Oklahoma City bombing, the marathon unites locals and visitors in a hopeful mission to celebrate life, reach for the future and honor all who were affected on April 19, 1995. The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum will hold a Remembrance Ceremony on April 19 to commemorate the day.
Festival of the Arts
From April 25-30, the stunning displays of more than 100 artists will line Bicentennial Park for OKC's Festival of the Arts. Browse through paintings, jewelry, photography, mixed media and other beautiful pieces (all for sale!) between live performances from local musicians, school groups and more. You can even create some art of your own! Insider tip: Come with an empty stomach. The Festival food is as impressive as the impeccable art that surrounds it.
2024 Canoe Slalom and Kayak Cross Olympic Team Trials
Cheer on Team USA at the 2024 Canoe Slalom and Kayak Cross Olympic Team Trials as they compete for their ticket to the Paris Olympics! The event will take place April 26-27 at Riversport, with Slalom racing Friday and Saturday, and Kayak Cross on Saturday.
Steamroller Print Festival
ARTSPACE at Untitled brings heavy metal printmaking to Oklahoma City during the Steamroller Print Festival on April 27! Dozens of giant wood block prints are inked and pressed by an actual steamroller. Each enormous print is then proudly displayed along the outer facade of the building for the festival-goers to enjoy.
Watch a Game
Baseball is back! Opening day for the OKC Baseball Club is April 2. Catch one of OKC Thunder's final games of the season (before they start the playoffs 😏) at the Paycom Center. Their final home game is on April 14.
