OKLAHOMA CITY, Tuesday Nov 25, 2025 — The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is kicking off the holiday season the weekend of December 6–7 with two festive events: Deck the Hall, featuring dinner, dancing, and a special appearance by the legendary swing band Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys; and Kids Take Over The Cowboy: Holidays at the Museum, where families can enjoy crafts, treats, and photos with Santa in front of the Museum’s towering holiday tree.

Deck the Hall
Sunday, Dec. 7 | 5:30–8 p.m.
This year’s Deck the Hall transforms the Museum into a lively Western holiday party headlined by Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys, one of the most iconic and beloved names in Western swing. Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy dinner, dancing, Santa photos, and festive ranch-wear fun as the band brings classic Western swing to the Museum’s beautifully decorated Special Events Center.

Kids Take Over The Cowboy: Holidays at the Museum
Saturday, Dec. 6 | 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Bring the whole family for a free-spirited holiday celebration throughout the Museum. Kids can take photos with Santa in front of the Museum’s giant Christmas tree, explore holiday-themed crafts and make-and-take ornaments, join a Cowboy Elf scavenger hunt, and enjoy hot chocolate in the Silver Dollar Saloon. The Museum will be fully decked out for the season, making it one of the most charming family photo spots in Oklahoma City.
Free for Museum members or with regular Museum admission.
