Labor Day Weekend
The lazy days and long nights of summer are coming to an end, so why not head to Oklahoma City for one last hurrah? Here are our recommendations of ways to spend Labor Day Weekend in OKC – and be sure to come back to check out all of the must-do's in OKC!
LAST SPLASH
Oklahoma City's super-soaking attractions are the perfect places for one last summer splash. Dive into adventure with thrilling rides, wave pools and sandy beaches at the newly opened OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark! Spend your weekend on the water at RIVERSPORT Adventures with activities such as surfing, whitewater rafting, paddle boarding, tubing and more. Cool off at Hurricane Harbor with high-speed water slides and pools the whole family will enjoy.
For more fun on the water, check out the splash pads at Myriad Gardens, rent a pedal boat on the lake at Scissortail Park or cruise the Bricktown Canal on the Bricktown Water Taxi.
TAP INTO YOUR ARTSY SIDE
If you're looking to be inspired, check out one of OKC's art galleries or museums. Visit the Oklahoma City Museum of Art's Discovering Ansel Adams exhibit, featuring an unprecedented and eye-opening examination of the early career of one of America’s most renowned photographers. Get outside and explore OKC's art scene. Voted the best city in the U.S. for Street Art by USA Today, Oklahoma City is home to vibrant murals which bring beautiful pops of color to the landscape. Go mural chasing through the districts and make time to visit Plaza Walls in the Plaza District.
END OF SUMMER EATS
With an abundance of delicious local restaurants, you can't go wrong exploring the Modern Frontier's foodie scene. Discover authentic Vietnamese food in the Asian District. Savor an Oklahoma original - the onion burger - at Tucker's Onion Burgers or Nic's Grill. Craving an end of summer barbecue feast? Our BBQ joints can't be beat. Be sure to indulge in one last cold treat of the season at Boom Town Creamery or Sasquatch Shaved Ice!
