New in 2019
You might have noticed that the dates for Downtown in December far exceed the month that it's named for. This year's celebration is longer than ever before with more days and events to get you and your family in the holiday spirit.
Festive & Free
The holiday lights of OKC are free for all to see! Don't miss the vibrant displays along Automobile Alley starting November 23 with Lights on Broadway, followed shortly by the Oklahoma City Tree Lighting Festival on November 29. The Bricktown Canal lights are best viewed by Water Taxi, and you're in luck because rides are free Thursdays-Sundays in December from 6-9 p.m. You can also celebrate the first anniversary of the OKC Streetcar with free rides on select winter weekends and take in all of the holiday sights along the route.
Devon Energy’s Weekend with Santa is true celebration of the magic of Christmas. Children and families are invited to join for free crafts, train rides, live music and other festivities December 7-8.
Oh, What Fun!
Nothing says outdoor winter fun quite like ice skating and snow tubing, and downtown OKC offers both no matter the weather. Back for its 9th season, the Devon Ice Rink in the Myriad Botanical Gardens will be open to the public 7 days a week for outdoor ice skating from November 8-February 2. Also returning in 2019 is Snow Tubing at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark where you can race down a gigantic snowy slope and visit Santa's Workshop starting November 29.
Downtown has dozens of local boutiques and storefronts with perfect made-in-Oklahoma gifts for each person on your list. Look to Plenty Mercantile for purposeful gifting, Commonplace Books for the book lovers in your life and Shop Good for the die-hard OKC fans.
You can also visit over 30 Oklahoma-owned businesses at the Holiday Pop-Up Shops, a can't-miss holiday shopping experience returning to Midtown November 29-December 22. Housed in geodesic domes, shops rotate weekly and feature a number of local and small businesses so there's a new selection of goodies every time you visit.
