With so many different water parks and wet zones in the Modern Frontier, there is no shortage of ways to enjoy the outdoors while staying cool this summer. From exhilarating amusement parks to your typical splash pad, Oklahoma City has plenty of options for you and your family to enjoy. Be sure to bring a towel and a change of clothes as you experience some of the best water parks OKC offers.

Hurricane Harbor

Whether you’re in search of an area for kids to play or a thrilling water slide, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor has you covered. Completed by a gift shop full of unique souvenirs, the whole family will enjoy an action-packed day at Hurricane Harbor.

Frontier City

Another prominent water park in OKC is the Wild West Water Works located inside Frontier City, a Six Flags enterprise. With tall, twisting water slides, exhilarating roller coasters, a kid-friendly splash pad and more, Frontier City has enough to keep you and your family busy all day. You won’t have to leave the grounds for lunch, as this great amusement park has seven different restaurants, a handful of dessert options, and even multiple outposts serving beer and frozen margaritas. Stop by the Frontier Trading Company gift shop on your way out the door to complete a fun day at one of the best water parks in Oklahoma City.

RIVERSPORT

Another one of the top spots to enjoy the water in the Modern Frontier is RIVERSPORT. This expansive water recreation complex offers everything from kayaking, surfing, whitewater rafting, paddleboarding, skiing, tubing, rowing and more. Despite being a state-of-the-art training center for world-class athletes, RIVERSPORT can accommodate guests of all ages and is a great opportunity to experience a new activity while staying cool in the summer heat.

Wake Zone Cable Park

If you want to go wakeboarding but don’t have a boat, Wake Zone Cable Park is the place for you. With a sophisticated overhead cable system, the park’s staff can pull up to eight boarders. You don’t need prior experience to try wakeboarding at Wake Zone Cable Park, but experienced riders are still sure to have a good time. If you don’t want to wakeboard but are still hoping to enjoy some time on the water, this unique attraction has a large, floating aqua park that is the perfect place for kids to play.

Scissortail Park Splash Pad

Scissortail Park Sprayground

For a more traditional splash pad, head to the Scissortail Park sprayground, where your kiddo can enjoy themselves alongside other children happily playing. Located in the upper park, the sprayground is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Thunder Fountain at Myriad Gardens

Nearby in the heart of OKC is the Thunder Fountain at the Myriad Botanical Gardens. Sitting next to the Children’s Garden, the Thunder Fountain is a fun way for kids to cool off during a hot summer day and provides a full sensory experience of an Oklahoma thunderstorm. Children must be under adult supervision and water shoes or foot protection are recommended. Myriad Gardens also has a Seasonal Plaza Water Feature with a gorgeous view of downtown Oklahoma City and an artistic lighting display.
