Historic Capitol Hill

This business district, which was established prior to Oklahoma statehood, offers a glimpse back in time with historic buildings and classic facades from the early 1900s. Located just south of downtown on SW 25th St. between Walker and Broadway, the area is also called Calle dos Cinco and is an enclave for the city’s Hispanic and Latino population. The district is home to dining, local shopping and the award-winning festival, Fiestas de las Americas.
Several revitalization projects are underway, including a newly opened Plaza Calle Dos Cinco for community and cultural celebrations. Inspired by the lively gathering places throughout Latin America, the plaza’s vibrant design reflects the neighborhood’s rich Hispanic heritage. It features colorful public art, Talavera tiles, an arched entryway, a gazebo stage, trees, decorative lighting, seating, removable bollards and other amenities designed for both celebration and everyday community use.
