Grants available for Grady, Logan, Oklahoma, and Tulsa counties, deadline to apply is August 2.

 

Oklahoma City, OK – [July, 1, 2026] – The Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts, Oklahoma Conservation Commission and Oklahoma Monarch Society are partnering once again to offer the Wildlife Habitat Grant Program, providing funding opportunities for Oklahomans to create new native wildlife habitat that support pollinators, birds, and other native species in Grady, Logan, Oklahoma and Tulsa counties.

 

The grant program is open to residents, businesses, schools, parks and public spaces. Grant awards are available at a rate of $525 per 100 square feet of habitat, with projects ranging from a minimum of 100 square feet to a maximum of 1,000 square feet. In 2025, the grant program distributed $40,000 funding to 33 projects, resulting in the creation of 7,620 square feet of new habitat and the planting of 3,809 native plants.

Grant Requirements

Eligible projects must:

  • Be located in either Grady, Logan, Oklahoma, or Tulsa County
  • Create at least 100 square feet of new wildlife habitat
  • Focus on improving habitat for native wildlife, especially pollinators and birds
  • Be free of inorganic or potentially harmful pesticides, including herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides
  • Be willing to meet the required planting density and plant diversity requirements

Each project must include:

  • Native plants installed at a minimum rate of one plant every two feet
  • At least three native blooming wildflower species for each growing season (spring, summer, and fall) per 100 square feet
  • At least three native pollinator host plant species per 100 square feet
  • At least one native woody species (tree or shrub) per project

  • Projects completed by: October 31, 2026
  • Awards distributed: November–December 2026
