Bar None is located in Oklahoma City’s historic Midtown neighborhood
Oklahoma City, August 25, 2025 - This fall, the team behind James Beard award finalist Nonesuch will open Bar None in Oklahoma City: a wine bar redefining how America drinks.
Bar None puts North America’s next generation of wines at the center of the conversation. From Valle de Guadalupe to the Oregon coast, the list champions the continent’s most dynamic sites and forward-thinking winemakers: those risk-takers rewriting the rules of where great wine can come from. The focus is on what matters most in viticulture: land and people. To carry the mission further, site-driven spirits will be showcased through focused cocktails, whiskeys, and a deep mezcal selection that speaks to history, ritual and craftsmanship that long predate our borders.
In keeping with Nonesuch’s commitment to full-utilization, Bar None’s bar snacks will be made exclusively from trim and extras from the Nonesuch menu. This approach not only minimizes waste but also creates a direct culinary link between the two spaces, offering guests unexpected bites that embody the team’s philosophy of resourcefulness and creativity. The minds of James Beard Award Winner Kelly Whitaker, Chef Garrett Hare and Culinary Advisor Brian Baxter will guide the menu.
Bar None’s beverage program is led by Oklahoma’s own Kiki Mackey and Michelin-recognized Beverage Director Caroline Clark. Together with acclaimed hospitality leaders Suzanne Robers and Chad Luman, they’ve designed a gathering place for travelers, neighbors, and the next generation of wine drinkers.
“The US has long been treated as a wine market - a place where wine is sold and consumed - but rarely as a wine culture,” says Clark, Bar None’s beverage director. “We will change that. Bar None builds the necessary space to celebrate the uniqueness of the vineyard sites and makers of North America.”
For Whitaker, the project is also about honoring the land. “By focusing on North American producers, we’re shining a light on the farmers and winemakers who are giving back to the soil: with regenerative and sustainable practices that reflect the future of how we should be drinking.”
The bar space is an AIA Oklahoma Excellence in Design award-winning project, getting playful evolution from international design studio Wunder Werkz. It will have four bar seats, a 10-seat communal table, and a few two and four tops. With thoughtful curation and disarming hospitality, Bar None reimagines the elements of wine culture seen as unapproachable and instead invites curiosity from both new and seasoned drinkers.
The team at Bar None believes Oklahoma City, a cultural crossroads right off the Historic Route 66, is the best location to have this conversation. From the New York Finger Lakes to Texas Hill Country, from the Western Slopes of Colorado to the Baja California Coastline, Bar None is a reminder that North America’s most compelling stories are written on the road between places.
Bar None is located next to Nonesuch at 801 N Hudson Ave, Oklahoma City, OK. For opening updates, reservation go-live dates, behind-the-scenes looks, and menu sneak peeks, follow Bar None on Instagram.
