The indie acts will play at Tower Theatre on September 30

Today, Calexico and Iron & Wine added new shows to a previously announced tour, including an Oklahoma City stop.  The indie acts will play at Tower Theatre on Sept. 30, 2019. Tickets go on sale Fri., Apr. 19 at 10 a.m.

Calexico and Iron & Wine first made an artistic connection with In the Reins, the 2005 EP that brought Sam Beam, Joey Burns and John Convertino together. The acclaimed collaboration introduced both acts to wider audiences and broadened Beam’s artistic horizons, but it was the shared experience of touring together in the tradition of Bob Dylan’s “Rolling Thunder Revue” that cemented their bond.

Their metaphorical roads diverged in the years that followed, but they kept in touch and cross-pollinated where they could. But although they often talked about rekindling their collaboration in the studio and on the stage, it wasn’t until last year that their schedules aligned. Recorded in 2018, Years to Burn is out June 14 on Sub Pop Records.

Calexico and Iron & Wine will perform Sept. 30, 2019, at Tower Theatre in Oklahoma City. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., show starts at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $34 - $44 in advance.  Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.towertheatreokc.com, calling 405-70-TOWER, or visiting a Tower Theatre Box Office, located at Citizens Bank of Edmond, Fowler Volkswagen of Norman and Tower Theatre.

Tower Theatre is an independently-owned, live music and movie venue, located at 425 NW 23rd Street in the Oklahoma City’s historic Uptown 23rd District.
