Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4 in the Children’s Garden

Oklahoma City, OK -- Get your green thumbs ready for a super-fun adventure at the Children’s Gardening Fair at the Myriad Botanical Gardens is on Saturday and Sunday, June 3 & 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Children’s Garden. The two-day fair is designed for children of all ages to explore different aspects of gardening through interactive stations designed for immersive learning and play, as well as activities and take-home crafts specifically designed to get their hands dirty and their brains buzzing.

General admission is $8 for non-members and free for members and kids under two years old. Premium admission costs $14 for non-members and $6 for members. Both options include unlimited rides on Mo’s Carousel. Families are encouraged to purchase memberships to the Gardens which includes year-round admission to the Crystal Bridge Conservatory, discounts on classes, free admission to Pumpkinville and a 10 percent discount to the Myriad Gardens Gift Shop. Memberships also will get free admission to 300 + botanical gardens in the US under the reciprocal agreement.

Included in the general admission pricing are education stations like Compost Bin, How does your garden grow?, Vermiculture (worms), Soil Science, Good Bug, Bad Bug, and activity stations such as seed starting, seed bombs, garden tags, pollination game, and seed math.

Premium Admission offers extra perks like solar prints, DIY mini bouquet, veggie snacks, and a Children’s Gardening Fair tote bag.

The event also features programming for kids including Mother Earth play, sponsored by OKC Beautiful, Beekeeping 101 with Scissortail Park, story time with Metropolitan Library, and Bug Show & Tell with OU.

In addition to the educational and activity stations, the fair will also feature food vendors, face painting Social Greenery potting bar, and Wine and Palette pop-in painting.

Free and open to the public, Myriad Botanical Gardens provides 15 acres of ornamental gardens and grounds that include a children’s garden and carousel, native prairie garden, shade gardens, tree and shrub collections, lake with terraced gardens and a diverse collection of ornamental flowering perennials and grasses.  The grounds also feature The Inasmuch Foundation Crystal Bridge Conservatory, home to hundreds of tropical and desert plants. The Gardens is managed by Myriad Gardens Foundation, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that partners with corporate and community groups to enhance the educational, aesthetic, cultural and economic development of Oklahoma City.
