The OKC Zoo is sad to announce that our sing-along/meet and greet with Gayla Peevey scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, November 11, has been cancelled due to travel issues for our guest of honor.
Gayla Peevey, the singer of the beloved “hippo song,” continues to be part of the OKC Zoo's history and holiday festivities and we will miss her visiting us this year. But don’t worry, the Zoo is keeping the holiday cheer and fun going for fans of this beloved song and will be playing “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” in our entry plaza during the day tomorrow, November 11.
NOTE: The OKC Zoo’s Military Appreciation Celebration continues through Friday, November 14, honoring military members with free admission and special discounts. During this time, all active duty, retired, and veteran members of the military, National Guard, and Reserves will receive free general admission for themselves, $10 general admission for up to four immediate family members, 10% off concession purchases, 10% off purchases at the Zoo's Safari Gifts, and $10 off any membership level with proof of valid military ID.
