Every month, the Paseo Arts District hosts First Friday Gallery Walk. This is a monthly event where visitors are invited to stroll throughout the district and immerse themselves in new art exhibits, special guest artists and live entertainment all within walking distance. Along with the artwork, visitors have a chance to dine in at any of the ten restaurants that make up the Paseo’s distinct atmosphere.

This month, the Paseo Arts Association is presenting its next two exhibitions for 2023: Transformations in Glass and the PAA Members’ Show. These exhibitions will be held in the Paseo Arts & Creativity Center at 3024 Paseo. An opening reception will be held on February 3 from 6-9 pm.

Gallery I will showcase Transformations in Glass, a collaborative collection of glass artwork by Jenny Dillon and Nicki Albright. Dillon began creating glass art in 2018. She uses painting and fusion techniques to develop colorful glass pieces. Albright’s career of glass art began in 1974. Her work has been recognized for being both functional and contemporary. In this collaboration, both artists will utilize bright colors and textures to portray their interpretations of what nature reveals throughout the seasonal transformation process.

Gallery II will feature the annual Paseo Arts Association Members’ Show. Each year, active members of the PAA have a chance to submit a piece of original artwork in any visual medium.  This year, the show will be juried by Stan Carroll. Carroll has made a long-lasting career in digital 3D design and is a 25-year architectural practitioner whose work spans furniture design, building design, urban place-making and large-scale public art.
