About Local Credit Unions
A Credit Union is a unique financial institution that operates with a strong emphasis on serving its members and the community they belong to. Unlike traditional banks that are profit-driven, Credit Unions are member-owned cooperatives, where each member has a say in the decision-making process. This cooperative structure enables Credit Unions to prioritize the needs of their members, offering them a range of essential financial services such as savings accounts, loans, and checking accounts with lower fees and competitive interest rates.

One of the most significant ways Credit Unions help the community is by not only providing accessible and affordable financial products but also promoting financial literacy. They aim to improve the financial well-being of their members and help them achieve their goals, whether it’s saving for a future expense, buying a home, or funding education.

Credit Unions extend their support beyond individual financial needs to strengthen the entire community. They actively participate in local initiatives, sponsor community events, and support charitable causes that uplift the lives of those they serve. Whether it’s funding local projects, organizing free community events like ‘CU in the Park’, or volunteering their time and resources, Credit Unions consistently demonstrate their commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of people within their community.
