Sip and Stroll is for the birds, literally, with proceeds from the 21+ event going to avian research and conservation. Tickets on sale now!
Conservation and cocktails are birds of a feather at this year’s Sip and Stroll events at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden benefitting birds and their habitats. Tickets and food and drink packages are on sale now at www.okczoo.org/sipandstroll.
Back for a sixth year, Sip and Stroll is a series of 21-and-older events taking place on six Friday nights in May and June at the OKC Zoo. In 2025, Sip and Stroll is expanding its offerings to appeal to an even wider audience of adults with new cocktails, mocktails, and tasty bites. This year’s dates are May 9, 16, 23 and June 13, 20, and 27 from 6 to 10 p.m. The June 20 event will celebrate PRIDE and feature specially themed cocktails and a show featuring many of Oklahoma’s premiere drag queens.
“As the weather warms up, the anticipation for Sip and Stroll is building. Since it began in 2020, we’ve seen this event gather more and more fans and this year looks to be another massive hit,” said Jenna Dodson, OKC Zoo’s events manager. “And we’re especially excited to gather so many animal lovers together to benefit avian research and conservation with our partners.”
General admission for Sip and Stroll is $25 per person for nonmembers and $20 per person for ZOOfriends members with $2 of every ticket sold going to the George Miksch Sutton Avian Research Center in Bartlesville and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Flamingo Saving Animals From Extinction: SAFE program.
“Birds contribute so much to our world—not just their songs and their colorful plumage, but as vital members of healthy ecosystems,” said Dr. Rebecca Snyder, OKC Zoo’s senior director of conservation. “Studies show an alarming decline in North American bird populations, down by more than 3 billion birds over the last 50 years, which makes it urgent that we work to reverse this devastating trend through conservation efforts to preserve dwindling habitats.”
Entry to the event includes access to a special Asian elephant presentation, the Primrose Schools Children’s Zoo Barnyard, the Endangered Species Carousel, and more.
Sip and Stroll is a truly Zoo-wide event with seven large bar stations situated throughout the Zoo’s expansive grounds serving signature cocktails and mocktails as well as beer and wine. There will also be delicious bites for sale, including mushroom pho potstickers, chicken and waffles, hot honey chicken biscuits, and more. Canopy Restaurant will also be open to sell pizza by the slice and chocolate-dipped cookies. Save money by buying food and drink packages in advance! The combination food and beverage package costs $55 in advance or $66 when purchased at the Zoo on the day of the event. Food-only packages are $22 in advance or $26 on-site. Beverage-only packages are $35 in advance or $39 on-site.
