NEW “SENSES AT PLAY” EXHIBIT NOW OPEN
“Senses at Play”, the Oklahoma Museum Network’s newest traveling exhibit, is an exciting, sensory-friendly environment where children of all ages and abilities can engage in multi-sensory play at their own level and pace. Guests are encouraged to explore their core senses by manipulating light, sound, texture and color, either through solo play or cooperative discovery. Activities are open-ended and can be experienced in a variety of ways, depending on a person’s age, abilities and imagination. “Senses at Play” is include with general admission.

MEMBER APPRECIATION DAY, JULY 10 – SMO wants to show our appreciation to museum members by hosting a Membership Appreciation Day, Saturday, July 10 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. The day will include special activities just for members such as learning how to escape quick sand and building your own emergency shelter. For those not already members, membership may be purchased the same day and an additional guest added for free – a $35 value!
SANTA’S SCIENTIFIC SATURDAY, JULY 24 – Santa Claus is vacationing in Oklahoma City and stopping by Science Museum Oklahoma on Saturday, July 24 for an afternoon of science and wonder. Enjoy faux snow and cool down with an iceberg activity. Activities will take place from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
BART CONNER AND THE SCIENCE OF SPORTS
Olympic fever is heating up and SMO is celebrating with the Science of Sports! Join Gold medalist Bart Conner and others as they share the science behind gymnastics, cycling, skateboarding and more. Throughout the Olympics, SMO will be sharing videos on social media platforms to demonstrate how science and sports intersect to help top athletes perform their best in Olympic sports.

Sherlock Holmes – The Exhibition
Are you a Sherlock Holmes fan? Ever wanted to solve a crime in true Sherlockian fashion? If so, then your opportunity awaits at the Sherlock Holmes – The Exhibition. This interactive experience combines science with history and culture, and gives you the ultimate challenge - can you hang with the great Sherlock Holmes and solve the crime? Written exclusively for this exhibition by acclaimed writer and award-winning Conan Doyle biographer Daniel Stashower, solving this crime requires skill, deductive reasoning and observation. Museum guests will be transported into Sherlock Holmes’ London, see original manuscripts and period artifacts as well as a robust collection of pop culture highlighting Sherlock throughout the years.

The Worst-Case Scenario: An Ultimate Survival Experience
Learning to survive has never been this fun! Guests can put their skills to the test as they learn different ways to handle challenging situations. The Worst-Case Scenario: An Ultimate Survival Experience is a full-body physical and minds-on exhibition providing the essential instructions for everything people need to know when encountering the unexpected. As they tackle unlikely—but POSSIBLE!—real-life scenarios, guests will find countless moments of excitement and laughter along the way.
In addition, guests will learn about the science behind the seven steps of survival and learn the stories of real-life heroes and survivors.
