Concert series features live music on the 4.4-acre great lawn at Scissortail Park providing ample space to enjoy a free concert while practicing responsible social distancing
Local, regional, and national artists and musicians will take the stage at Scissortail Park on select Friday evenings for Live from the Lawn presented by Oklahoma Natural Gas beginning Friday, June 26. The concerts are on the Love’s Travel Stops Stage & Great Lawn, which offers generous area for guests to maintain at least 6 feet of space between other guests. Higher risk individuals should consider wearing masks in addition to keeping recommended social distance.
Norman-based Mike Hosty will debut the concert series, presented by Oklahoma Natural Gas, with Adam Aguilar. Hosty is well-known to Oklahoma audiences as a one-man-band, playing drums with his feet while playing guitar and singing his witty songs at the same time. He will also break out a Kazoo or harmonica from time-to-time, and use a foot pedal to stomp out bass lines.
Aguilar is a blues, rock and soul singer, guitarist and songwriter based in Oklahoma City. He has spent most of his career performing in Oklahoma and surrounding states.
“As a nonprofit organization, Scissortail Park Foundation is grateful for the support of Oklahoma Natural Gas in presenting the Live from the Lawn concert series,” said Maureen Heffernan, president and CEO of the foundation. “This support helps us keep these events free for the public.”
