(Oklahoma City) – Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership and the Downtown Business Improvement District are excited to invite the community to Downtown OKC Day on Wednesday, June 4 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kerr Park (102 Robert S. Kerr Ave.).

Previously known as Downtown Employee Appreciation Day, the newly named Downtown OKC Day reflects a broader, more inclusive celebration of everyone who contributes to downtown's vibrancy. Downtown thrives not only because of its workforce but also its residents, visitors, and supporters.

“Downtown OKC Day is a celebration of all the people who make our urban core a dynamic and welcoming place,” said Jennifer Nakayama, President and CEO of Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership. “This event's goal remains the same – a simple thank you to the people who give downtown its energy and heart."

Attendees can enjoy a festive, come-and-go lunch hour with food trucks, yard games, pop-up booths, and activities provided by various downtown not-for-profit organizations and services. Notable participants include deadCenter Film, EMBARK, RIVERSPORT, and Visit OKC. Additional programming, including music by DJ Reaper, provided by Arts Council Oklahoma City Art Moves, and activations from the OKC Thunder.

The event is free and open to workers, residents, and downtown visitors. Guests are encouraged to purchase lunch from one of the eight food trucks, including Bondi Bowls, Let's Do Greek, Mob Thai'd, Oh My Gogi, Some Like it Tot, Split Top Dogs, Taco Empire and Yum Yum Bites.

Complimentary popsicles from Wondervan Pops and giveaways will be available, while supplies last, courtesy of Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership. Additionally, free bottled water will be provided by Paycom Center while supplies last.

The OKC Streetcar offers convenient transportation to Downtown OKC Day attendees. By showing the attendant the event webpage, attendees will receive complimentary fare on the OKC Streetcar. The “Business District” stop is recommended for easy access to the festivities.
