Oklahoma City ,OK -- Spring is in full swing, and Myriad Botanical Gardens is the perfect place to enjoy the season. This May, we're offering a variety of exciting events and activities that are sure to please everyone. Whether you're looking for fitness classes, gardening tips, or simply fun times with family and friends, we've got you covered. Our returning favorites include the OKC Flower & Gardening Festival, Full Moon Bike Rides, and Dancing in the Gardens. But that's not all—we're also introducing a new event called PopUP Gardens Cafe, which will take place every Thursday in May. And as a special treat, we're offering free admission for moms on Mother's Day. Don't miss out on the festive fun and fresh air at Myriad Botanical Gardens this May.

POP-UP Garden Cafe

Sheridan Lawn located on the north side of the Gardens

Looking for a new lunch option downtown?! Join us on the Sheridan Lawn at Myriad Botanical Gardens every Thursday in May from 11 am – 2 pm for our POP-UP Garden Café! The lawn will be transformed into a pop-up café complete with bistro tables, umbrellas, and florals. Grab your coworkers and friends and enjoy local food trucks, listen to live music, and play a game of chess while surrounded by the gardens in full bloom.

OKC Flower and Garden Festival

Get ready to add a little more color and life into your home with the Oklahoma City Flower & Garden Festival! On Saturday, May 13th from 9am-4pm attendees will be able to explore breathtaking botanicals like flowers, herbs and succulents while browsing unique jewelry pieces as well as jewelry, garden art, crafts. Plus it’s free admission – what’s better than that? Head down S. Hudson Avenue between W. Reno and Sheridan Avenues for this cool, super-duper event not worth missing out on!

Dancing in the Gardens

Let’s Salsa! Join us Friday May 19th at the Seasonal Plaza in Myriad Botanical Gardens and get ready to celebrate sizzling salsa dancing. Marti Rickman of Clips and Hips will be demonstrating starting at 7pm, followed by free lessons so everyone can join in on the fun. At 8pm DJ Juan Red Handed takes over with a mix of classic salsa hits that are sure to keep you moving all night long! Don’t forget about drink specials too – perfect for a date night or family outing alike (all ages welcome!). Hosted by Brenda & Jorge Hernandez with Tango PR, this is our 8th year to host this night. We can’t wait to see all the familiar faces and looking forward to making new friends!

Ready to find your inner peace and relaxation? Come join us at the Myriad Botanical Gardens for our twice-weekly yoga classes, running Tuesdays at 6 pm & Saturdays at 9 am. All levels of experience are welcome! Bring a mat and water bottle – we’ll provide everything else you need on the journey to calmness. Join us as take your next step towards finding balance through mindful movement.

Join Barre3 in the Myriad Botanical Gardens for a truly invigorating outdoor workout experience in the center of downtown OKC! From 6-7pm on Friday, May 5, you can get all your fitness needs met thanks to our FREE Community Workout. Don't forget water and workout clothes — we'll provide an energizing soundtrack from start to finish that's sure to make it feel like no other exercise session out there. This is a good workout. Parking is free at meters after 6pm.

Full Moon Bike Rides

Set out on a one-hour sunset bike ride throughout downtown Oklahoma City with Myriad Botanical Garden’s monthly Full Moon Bike Ride. Gather at the Seasonal Plaza in the northeast corner of the Myriad Botanical Gardens and ride together through the downtown Oklahoma City. Through Bricktown or down the Oklahoma River to the Wheeler District Ferris Wheel, this is a great way to tour with many others alongside you. Each Full Moon Bike Ride has a different theme and routes are specially planned by bicycle enthusiast Steve Schlegel. T-Shirts and water bottles will be available for purchase at each ride.

Other dates for the season include Saturday, June 3, 8:45pm; Tuesday, August 1, 8:30pm; August 30, 8pm; September 29, 7:15pm; and October 28, 6:30pm. There will not be a ride in July due to Independence day.

Tai Chi

Meet in the Water Terrace Room

Join us every other Monday for an energizing class of Tai Chi! Learn the basics to improve your breathing, enhance balance and coordination, and increase flexibility – all in a calm yet invigorating atmosphere. Instructed by Ling Miller, this class is suited for everyone ranging from absolute beginners to experienced practitioners. Comfortable clothes that allow you freedom of movement as well as flat shoes are encouraged; chairs will be provided upon request. All levels welcome!

Gather your little ones and join us at the Visitor Center Lobby each Wednesday morning at 10am! Our nature-filled story time brings to life some of the freshest seasonal tales. Not only will we be reading, but also singing songs and most times crafting small works of art! It’s a perfect way for toddlers aged 2 – 5 years old to get in touch with their wild side.

Monarch Waystations are garden habitats specifically designed to provide the resources necessary for monarchs to produce successive generations and sustain their migration. Learn how to build your own waystation from the ground up, including planning and design, sourcing host and nectar plants, garden maintenance, and certification. Participants will head home with one host plant and one nectar plant.

Every second Friday at 1pm and the last Saturday of every month at 10am, the horticulture staff invites you to the Guided Gardens Tour. As we stroll the grounds, we’ll examine and talk about the seasonal flowers, shrubs, trees, and other vegetation that our staff looks forward to every year. Discover the projects the Gardens is working on and bring back useful gardening advice. Takeaway handouts are provided at the walk or can be download from the website myriadgardens.org. Meet at the Conservatory’s Visitors lobby. Free of charge. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome on the trip.

Workshop: Succulent Frames

Design a fantastic, modern succulent frame in this hands-on workshop. Specialized instruction will lead you to create a rustic wooden frame tucked with succulents fit to adorn any summer display. Crystal Bridge Conservatory Art Gallery

Free to view during business hours: Monday-Saturday, 9am-5pm and Sunday, 11am-5pm

Visit the Crystal Bridge art gallery to see the exhibit by renowned artists Thomas Martinez and William Lentz. "Seasons of Change" fantastically blends the different elements of nature and architecture to depict the passage of time in a dynamic display of hues. The art exhibit is free to view and open from Monday to Saturday (9am-5pm) and on Sunday (11am-5pm). Don't miss this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the artistry that reflects the spectrum of colors as each season draws near.
