Connect with wildlife through brick-built art as you experience the all new, seasonal BRICKLIVE™ Animal Paradise at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden. Debuting for the first time in Oklahoma at the OKC Zoo, BRICKLIVE Animal Paradise, features endangered animal statues made with more than one million toy bricks! This one-of-a-kind exhibit will be located within the Zoo’s butterfly garden area and is designed to connect wildlife fans to many of the planet’s endangered species while “building” an appreciation for conservation and biodiversity. BRICKLIVE Animal Paradise opens at the OKC Zoo on Saturday, May 7 and remains on display through Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Purchase a BRICKLIVE Bundle ticket and receive general Zoo admission plus unlimited admission to BRICKLIVE Animal Paradise and Stingray Bay plus all-day rides on the Endangered Species Carousel and Elephant Express Tram. Bundle tickets are $28 for adults ages 12-64 and $25 for children ages 3-11. General admission for BRICKLIVE and seasonal ZOOfriends membership pass options will also be available at www.okczoo.org/tickets. There’s still time to enroll your young nature and animal lover in this season of summer camps at the Oklahoma City Zoo. The OKC Zoo’s weekly themed camps aim to provide opportunities for children to embrace their passions for and curiosity about wildlife and wild places at the perfect place in Oklahoma City to do so, the OKC Zoo. The OKC Zoo’s unique, week-long summer camps offer individually themed programs that include a variety of educational and hands-on S.T.E.A.M. activities designed to foster child’s interests in nature, conservation, science and, of course, animals! Campers will also enjoy in-park exploration, engaging activities, up-close encounters with animal ambassadors and unforgettable experiences. With a myriad of summer camp options to choose from, your kiddo is sure to find a program they are wild about. OKC Zoo summer camps are available for kids 4–17 and run for twelve weeks, Monday, May 23, through Friday, August 12, 2022. The cost is $275 per camper (ZOOfriends members) and $300 per camper (nonmembers) per week. Price does not apply to the Assistant Zookeeper Camp. Camps run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Campers must bring their own lunch and snacks. All Zoo camps will operate with enhanced safety and sanitation measures in place per CDC, city and state guidelines. SUNDAY, MAY 1 THROUGH SATURDAY, MAY 7: OKC ZOO AND BOB MOORE SUBARU CELEBRATE NATIONAL WILDFLOWER WEEK, ZOO HOSTS SPRING PLANT SALE
Come together with the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden and Bob Moore Subaru to celebrate National Wildflower Week, Sunday, May 1 through Saturday, May. The OKC Zoo will be sharing tips about gardening and conserving wild habitats from its horticulturists on its social media platforms throughout the week. The week-long celebration ends with a spring plant and OKC ZOO POO sale on Saturday, May 7, in the entry plaza from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The OKC Zoo’s experts will have an array of botanicals available for purchase. Additional activities include information stations and photo opportunities from Bob Moore Subaru. Plus, the Zoo will be selling its premium compost, OKC ZOO POO. This organic fertilizer sourced from many of your favorite Zoo animals including the Asian elephants, Indian rhinos and giraffe is the natural way to nurture your garden. OKC ZOO POO comes in two sizes – small bag for $3.99 and a large reusable bag with pollinator seeds for $14.99.
FRIDAY, MAY 6: JOIN THE OKC ZOO AT FASSLER HALL FOR PINTS FOR PUPS FUNDRAISER, SUPPORT AFRICAN WILD DOG CONSERVATION
Take “paws” for a good cause and join the Oklahoma City Zoo for its Pints for Pubs at Fassler Hall, OKC, in support of the Painted Dog Research Trust. Come meet Dr. Greg Rasmussen, conservationist and founder of the Painted Dog Research Trust. Dr. Rasmussen is an expert on African painted dogs and his organization is dedicated to the conservation of this endangered species. It is estimated that fewer than 5,000 African painted dogs remain in the wild. Make your way to Fassler Hall, 421 NW 10th Street, Oklahoma City, on Friday, May 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. for a refreshing beverage and delicious bites, and 10% of food and beverage purchases during this time will support the Painted Dog Research Trust.

Join us for Oklahoma Zoological Society’s 35th annual Ostrich Egg Breakfast (OEB), Oklahoma City’s most celebrated breakfast event, happening at the Oklahoma City Zoo on Saturday, May 7, Mother’s Day weekend. Make it a “mom”orable morning as you enjoy delicious breakfast foods and spending time with family and friends in the unique setting of the Zoo. Mark your calendars, and plan on joining the fun at Safe Kids Day at the Oklahoma City Zoo on Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day will be full of family-friendly activities including a safety scavenger safari for kids, and information stations teaching guests how to stay safe on the road, at home and at play! SATURDAY, MAY 14: OKC ZOO PROVIDING AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS FOR GUESTS
The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden is proud to provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters to create an enhanced Zoo visit for guests who are deaf and hard of hearing. ASL interpreters are available at the Zoo on the second Saturday of every month including Saturday, April 9, and present at the sea lion and elephant presentations plus, scheduled Wild Encounter experiences. Zoo guests are not charged a fee for the use of an ASL interpreter. Cost per person for the sea lion presentation is $5, children two and under are free to attend. SATURDAY, MAY 14: OKC ZOO SPRING ANIMAL ENRICHMENT EVENT
Enjoy a fun-filled day at the Oklahoma City Zoo watching as members of the Zoo’s animal family interact with enrichment activities prepared for them by their caretakers. The Zoo will celebrate the changing seasons with special enrichment events throughout the year, beginning with this spring themed event on Saturday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Event activities will focus around scent-based enrichment created by caretakers for many of the Zoo’s popular animals, and viewable to guests. Enrichment is the action of improving or enhancing the quality or experience of something the animal encounters. Animal caretakers at the Zoo use enrichment to enhance the quality of an animal’s habitat. Zoo guests may have seen caretakers add toys, feeders, ice treats or scents to encourage our animals’ natural abilities, ensuring they have different opportunities throughout the day. Guests will also have an opportunity to talk with the Zoo’s expert team members to learn more about the Zoo’s enrichment program. This event is free with admission. Handouts with the Spring Animal Enrichment Event schedule will be available at the Zoo’s Guest Services and ZOOfriends offices in the entry plaza. THURSDAY, MAY 19: SIP AND STROLL, 21+ EVENING EVENT, AT THE OKC ZOO
Be seen sipping and strolling at the wildest spot in town – the OKC Zoo! Join the Oklahoma City Zoo for its third annual, Sip and Stroll, 21 and up event series. Presented by COOP Ale Works, Sip and Stroll is set for Thursday, May 19, from 6-10 p.m. and reoccurs every third Thursday through September. Guests 21 and older will enjoy evening safari through the majority of the Zoo to discover amazing animals, exclusive experiences–animal feedings and sea lion presentations–while sipping on delicious drinks along the way. Discover six themed “watering holes” featuring custom cocktails like The Long Neck and Spotted In Namibia inspired by our planet’s wildlife and wild places while highlighting what the Zoo is doing to protect the natural world through global conservation partnerships. With Sip and Stroll admission, $32/person, enjoy access to the sea lion presentation, elephant presentation, Stingray Bay, the Endangered Species Carousel and more. Sip and Stroll Drink Passports will be available for purchase for an additional $27 per person, allowing pass holders to enjoy a sample of all 6 specialty drinks. Drinks will also be available a la carte. Additional beverages and food will be available for purchase during Sip and Stroll from Zoo restaurants and local food trucks. SATURDAY, MAY 21: OBI BLOOD DRIVE AT THE OKC ZOO
The Oklahoma City Zoo and Oklahoma Blood Institute are teaming up to help boost blood supplies this spring, offering those who donate blood on Saturday, May 21 a free OBI t-shirt and their choice of one free general admission ticket to the OKC Zoo. Tickets may be used throughout the remainder of the year. There is an increased need for blood donations this spring as many people are busy traveling and enjoying the warmer weather. Unfortunately, these factors have a negative impact on the blood supply. OBI needs 1,200 donors a day to maintain an adequate blood supply. The Zoo will be hosting a blood drive on Saturday, May 21, at its Education Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn more or make an appointment visit obi.org.
