Unique Restaurant Model Combined with Made-In-Oklahoma Products and Arts
Oklahoma City residents are in for a treat with the unique and local vibe of Meridian Market Kitchen and Food Collective, an innovative modern American restaurant concept featuring made-in-Oklahoma (MIO) foods, beverages, arts, and decor. Veteran Oklahoma restaurateurs Tom and Cindy Harsha, and Chris Potts, announce the grand opening will be October 30, 2020 at 2037 S. Meridian. The collective will serve the Meridian Avenue Corridor and surrounding areas, as well as airport traffic in and out of Oklahoma City. A soft opening for lunches is underway now.
The collective operates four distinct areas of service. A bistro-style kitchen offers full modern American lunch and dinner menus including table service, curbside and delivery, or grab-and-go options. Professional catering services are also available. The wine and coffee bar is lined with individual charging stations and features local craft beers, wines from Oklahoma wineries, signature cocktails using in-state distillery spirits, and craft coffees with locally roasted beans. A unique source kitchen allows local food entrepreneurs to test and produce recipes. And finally, a made-in-Oklahoma retail area offers a variety of locally made foods and snacks, as well as unique works by area artists and craftsmen.
“We wanted to help bring Oklahoma’s economy back strong as we recover from the ongoing pandemic. Supporting these outstanding local food companies and artisans and giving enjoyment to our fellow Oklahomans, as well as travelers from around the country, sets our concept apart,” explained Cindy Harsha. “Our collective fills so many needs for the Meridian Avenue Corridor, plus all of our menu items are delicious and affordable.” Modern spins on favorite foods, starting with Upside Down Pizza, make up the eclectic menu. Starters range from a Southern Caprese Salad made with green fried tomatoes to Quail Tips basted with MIO Peach Habanero Jam. Made-from-scratch soups are available daily in the restaurant or for grab-and-go. Unique salads, sandwiches and burgers also include vegetarian options. The dinner menu offers steaks, pork loin chops, seafood and chicken served with homemade sides like au gratin potatoes, blood orange heirloom carrots, Brussels sprouts, and baked mac and cheese. Desserts vary daily, and the wine/cocktail/coffee selections can be enjoyed at the bar or next to the fireplace.
Meridian Market Kitchen and Food Collective will be a welcome new player in Oklahoma’s thriving restaurant scene with unique opportunities to support a variety of local products and artisans.
