Oklahoma City, OK (October 20, 2021) – Each First Friday of the month, the community is invited to stroll the historic Paseo Arts District. All of the Paseo galleries have reopened, some with abbreviated hours, and most will be open late for First Friday. Restaurants will be open for dining, patio seating and takeout. All guests are encouraged to wear a mask indoors, practice social distancing and use provided hand sanitizer when shopping. This month’s First Friday is November 5, 6-9pm.

During the months of November and December, the Paseo Arts and Creativity Center (PACC) is pleased to feature two exhibitions. Experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to “The Outer Limits”. Gallery I will feature the artwork of Brent Learned, Harvey Pratt, Rick Sinnett, George Levi and Mark Rankin in an exhibition exploring the paranormal in Oklahoma, with a special guest DJ Kenny Stuart. Brent Learned is an award winning Native American artist who was born and reared in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. Brent is a graduate from the University of Kansas, holding a Bachelor Degree in Fine Art. He is an artist who draws, paints and sculpts with great detail. He has always appreciated the heritage and culture of the Plains Indians and it is reflected in his artwork as he captures the essence, accuracy and historic authenticity of the Plains Indian way of life.

Gallery II will feature the SmallArt Show, a curated selection of submitted original artwork smaller than 15” in any direction and priced between $25 and $199. Open to all mediums of visual art, this show is perfect for the beginning collector and for sharing the gift of original art during the holiday season. This year’s juror is Alan Atkinson. Atkinson received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Oklahoma and holds a Ph.D. in History of Art from the University of Kansas. He currently presides as the Director of Visual Arts and Capitol Collections at the Oklahoma Arts Council where he oversees the acquisition, display and preservation of the Oklahoma State Art Collection and the Oklahoma Capitol Art Collection.

Oklahoma City’s Unique Arts Destination, the Paseo Arts District is located between NW 27th & 30th Streets and Walker & Hudson. Each First Friday, Paseo galleries offer special themed exhibits, guest artists and a variety of live entertainment - all within walking distance. 10 restaurants and a handful of other shops round out the Paseo’s distinctive atmosphere.
